Overview of Georgia Soque River

In the north Georgia mountains flows a river that is home to one of the finest Rainbow and Brown trout fisheries in the southeast. Called the “trout fisherman’s paradise” by Garden and Gun, the Soque River will test your fly fishing skills as you battle it out with the monster trout. This lodge has preserved a private section of river just under four miles long that runs through their 650 acres. You will benefit from the results of this intense preservation: a thriving trout ecosystem.

Beyond the amazing fishing, you will enjoy the incredible scenery around you. The Georgia mountains will surround you with their green pines, incredible fall colors as the trees turn, and starry nights.

The rustic luxury lodge will have you feeling right at home with its comfortable furnishing which pairs elegant décor with the easy feeling every outdoorsman wants. Sit by the fire in the main living room or go outdoors to the campfire. Every evening cocktails and appetizers are served on the deck at sunset as you overlook the mountains and headwater streams of the river.

Get your waders ready and grab your rod or borrow a lodge rod because you don’t want to miss a fishing opportunity at this lodge!

Fishing

Season: October 1 – May 31

Spend your mornings and afternoons in search of the wily, big trout.  With almost four miles of private river to fish, you could spend two full days in this fishery without overlapping your fishing area.  All fishing is catch-and-release fly fishing for rainbow trout and is fully guided.

Your guides are highly trained and ready to help you succeed. Their expertise will set you up for the greatest chance of success as you explore the river and attempt to reel in two-foot trout.

If you need gear, you can rent it at the lodge.

Hunting

While it is limited, there are some hunting opportunities for wild boar here. Please contact us for more information on availability.

Lodging

The two-story lodge here is comfortable and rustic with everything you need. It is reminiscent of the traditional style of the area but with modern amenities. The main living space has seating for everyone to relax while looking out over the mountains. The open floor plan between the dining room, bar, and living rooms allows everyone in your group to be together throughout your visit. They have an outdoor firepit area and deck overlooking a peaceful field and the Georgia woods. You will relax with your feet up after a great day of fishing!

The bedrooms are basic and quaint. Two are upstairs and two are downstairs; four total. Each floor has one bathroom. The bedrooms can hold between two and three people based on the bed layout. Two of the rooms have a queen bed and a twin bed. One has two twin beds (which can be converted to a king). The last has one queen bed. The two bathrooms are spacious with double sinks in each.

Your meals are all home-cooked and will have your mouth watering! You will enjoy appetizers and cocktails for sunset on the porch, then have your main meal on the deck or inside. Each morning you will wake up to the smell of a hot breakfast beckoning you out of bed.

Other Activities

To enjoy your time at this lodge, every guest needs to enjoy fishing or hunting. There are no other activities available.
