Free Range and Preserver Hunting for Elk, Mule Deer, and Bison:
This lodge offers elk, mule deer and bison hunts. Elk and bison may be hunted in the high fenced property. The high fenced property is made up of two 3,200 acre properties. It is a real hunt! The free range hunts for elk and mule deer cover over 30,000 acres. All elk and mule deer hunts are for five days and six nights. Bison hunts are two nights and one day. The lowest elevation on the ranch is 8,000 feet, so we urge you to be in good physical condition. Your guide will tailor your hunt to your physical abilities. Since the terrain varies widely, you and your guide will hunt by four-wheel drive vehicle and on foot. The rut or bugling season is around September 20 – October 10.
Hunts can be tailored to your desires. If you are in top physical condition and want to climb the mountains to pursue your trophy, you can. If you prefer four-wheel drive vehicles combined with a spot and stalk style hunt, they can accommodate that as well. Just talk to your guide and let him know how you want to hunt.
One thing you need to consider is that if trophy size is your primary goal, the better your physical conditioning, the better your chance of success. If you are better condition, you will be able to go the remote areas where the big bulls could be hiding out. That’s not to say that a big bull isn’t just around the corner in your four-wheel drive vehicle!

Links to the companies we recommend:
While we do everything in our power to protect our clients from travel problems, we cannot prevent illness, natural disasters, wars, deaths, lodge closings and more; we live in uncertain times! The only way to protect yourself and your investment is through travel insurance. Travel insurance can provide medical coverage, cancellation due to natural disaster, illness, death in the family, lodge closings and other unknowns; in this day and time, anything is possible. Lodges count on you to protect your investment as they cannot refund your payments due to the nature of the product they offer.
Finally, travel insurance is time-sensitive and must be purchased within a certain number of days of your deposit to cover preexisting conditions, lodge closings and other various issues. It is still available later but the benefits may be more limited.
