Alaska Dall Sheep Hunt & Moose Hunt

Overview

Alaska Dall Sheep Hunt & Moose Hunt

An Alaska Dall Sheep hunt or Moose hunt with this family owned and operated business is built around quality and success. Owner, Jeff’s three decades of experience in guiding big game hunts is apparent in all aspects of their commitment to you – the hunter. They have achieved an excellent reputation in every area of the hunting industry— from scheduling a small number of hunts to their success in the field — they demonstrate an absolute dedication to the commitment that was made when the hunt was booked.  These hunts are not for the faint of heart as Alaska will challenge all of your senses.

They operate in two exclusive guide areas in unit 12 in the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve.  They are the only outfitter allowed to guide in these areas and they take care of these areas, treating the land as if it was their own and managing the game so it will flourish. They take a limited number of hunters which keeps your success rate high and the trophy quality great. The hunts are backpack hunts so you need to be in the best shape of your life to fully enjoy your experience. They take pride in managing the area which helps maintain the resource for years to come.Alaska Dall Sheep Hunt & Moose Hunt

Hunts are one-on-one fully guided with registered guides and each hunter will be paired with their own guide for the entire hunt (unless requested otherwise). All of the guides are experienced, knowledgeable, and highly trained.

At base camp they have a large Weatherport tent for the cook shack and 10×10 Bombshelter tents that sleep two people. When sheep hunting, you stay in small 1-3 men pup tents. When moose hunting, you stay in Bombshelters, wall tents, a cabin, or Arctic Oven, depending on the location.

The hunts are all backpack and you will need to be in great shape. The sheep hunts are the most intense and you will enjoy this hunt if  you are in the best shape you can be, ready to hike anywhere from 10-20 miles a day. The moose and bear hunts are less intense, but you still need to be in great shape, able to hike an upwards of 5-10 miles a day.  The Dall Sheep hunts is at elevations of 3-4,000 feet with a maximum of 6,000 feet.

This varies from client to client, but if you come in shape and can shoot well, we will have a great chance at filling your tag. Usually it is 75-95% depending on the species.

Testimonials

“I highly recommend MMO as your Outfitter of choice for an incredible hunting experience in Alaskan. I spent a very enjoyable week with Josh moose hunting. Great guide! Not only did I fill my tag with a trophy of a lifetime. I experienced the true Alaskan wilderness that I will have memories of for the rest of my life!”  Ken

My first hunting experience with MMO was in 2007 for Montana mule deer. I showed up as a client and left as a friend, returning in 2011 and 2016 for mule deer. Also in 2011, I hunted moose in Alaska with Joshua, which was the hunting experience of a lifetime for me. I would recommend MMO for your next hunting experience in Alaska!” Terry

Thank you again for the most “amazing hunt ever.” Love hunting with you and I am thrilled with the trophy sheep we took. I hope you have a successful rest of the year hunting.”  Keith

“I hunted with MMO in 2013 for Dall sheep with Jeff guiding me and Cyndi taking care of camp. I had a fantastic hunt, but more important was the rest of the time spent in camp after the hunt: relaxing, enjoying what Alaska has to offer and spending time with the family. From the time of booking the hunt, ALL arrangements were excellent with no worries on my part. My wife and I will be doing a turkey hunt shortly in 2017 and I’m also looking forward to spring 2018 for brown bear with MMO. Can’t wait!!!”  Henry

“MMO is THE place to go for a Dall Sheep. You might find outfits a couple thousand cheaper, but you won’t find anyone that can give you a higher opportunity. MMO has a near 100% success rate on Dall Sheep. Beyond the successful hunt, the entire remote experience and beautiful mountain terrain make this a trip of a lifetime. I also saw first hand the great bear and moose they also hunt.”  Rob

“Truly one of the best outfitters I have ever used. Awesome people who always do their best to make, not just your hunt, but also the overall experience the absolute best. Can’t wait to go to Alaska this spring with them.”  James
