Overview of Idaho Fly Fishing Lodge

If you’re seeking warm hospitality, impeccable meals, masterful guides and some of the best world renowned Idaho fishing rivers in the great northwest, you’ve come to the right place! This Idaho fly fishing lodge is family owned and operated.   For more than thirty years this ranch has been providing outstanding service to fly fishermen from all over the world.  We believe it to be some of, if not the finest fishing in the lower 48.

Located in Southeastern Idaho neighboring Targhee National Forest, the ranch is licensed on an honor roll of rivers in Idaho, Montana, and Yellowstone National Park including the Madison, Yellowstone, Henry’s Fork and South Fork of the Snake River.  It is truly a fly fisherman’s dream come true.  The home rivers are within 15-45 minutes of the lodge!

This lodge is extraordinary in that fishing days are arranged to satisfy the desire of each angler. Should you want to float every day, you float. If you want to spend a week stalking selective or large trout, then stalk you will. Most guests split their time between wading and floating, thus enjoying the best of both worlds. If adventure fishing appeals to you, they offer long hikes to great mountain lakes or boat “ramps” that drop the boat by ropes hundreds of feet down into a canyon.  Overnight at the deluxe tent camp on the South Fork! Options are nearly limitless. The blue-ribbon rivers and streams running through ranch property or located just a stone’s throw from the main gate are among America’s best.

Fishing

We have never been to a fishing or hunting lodge with guides that are as loyal and experienced as the guides at this lodge!  The rookie of the group when we visited had been working for the lodge for four years.  The head guide has been with this lodge for 30 years!

Every guide is a veteran angler and is part of the family. They know the waters from top to bottom and precisely how to fish them, regardless of the time of year. Whether you are fishing as a single angler, among a large group, or have special needs these guides work together to make your fishing experience more pleasurable.

Fishing Information:

All told, the lodge is licensed to guide fly fishing guests on more than 16 legendary trout streams including the Railroad Ranch on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake, South Fork of the Snake, Gallatin, Yellowstone (in the park), and Firehole. Fifteen different floats are available. The guides coordinate the weekly schedule so guests can cover the most productive stretches where prolific hatches tease trout to the surface and conditions are best.

Drives to the fishing range in length from 10 minutes up to an hour and a half.  The longer drives are mostly to Yellowstone Rivers.  If you do not want to drive a long distance, there is plenty of fishing within a half hours drive.

Each morning, you will ride with your guide in his vehicle with your boat in tow to drive to the fishing.  Float rafts and drift boats are used unless you are wade fishing.

You will be floating from McKenzie and skiff River boats, catarafts, or wading.

The Waters:

Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, Fall River, South Fork of the Snake River, Teton River, Warm River, Robinson Creek, Hebgen Lake.  Madison, Gallatin, Yellowstone and Firehole Rivers also licensed by the lodge.

Lodging

The lodge’s bar of polished logs and weathered wood is a natural setting for making new friends and for catching up with old ones. Wide board floors and Oriental rugs, leather furniture, all tied together by an immense coffee table, create the perfect atmosphere for swapping stories while you sip an after dinner brandy.

Guests stay in one of seven beautiful cabins along Robinson Creek. Each cabin is within short walking distance from the lodge dining room and the well outfitted fly shop. Everything you need to relax and unwind after an exciting day of fishing is waiting for you!

All cabins have private porches with Adirondack chairs for lounging, reading or reminiscing about your exciting day on the river. They are each furnished with western antiques, comfy overstuffed comforters and pillows as well as electric heat. Each cabin has a private bath with shower, in room hairdryer and coffee maker.

The cabins are meticulously maintained by daily maid service as well as nightly bed turndown. There is ample storage for clothing and gear, as well as personal rod racks outside the cabin. The staff and guides earnestly strive to enhance the enjoyment of your stay by catering to your every need, resulting in a special blend of genuine hospitality and meticulous attention to detail. Located across Robinson Creek is a separate guest facility, Robinson Lodge. It is equipped with four private guest rooms, two with balconies overlooking Robinson Creek with spectacular views. Complete with full kitchen, large gathering room with western antiques, pool table and large front porch, it is suitable for groups of 6-8. All meals are still served in the main lodge, however upon special request, we can arrange for your group to enjoy private dining.

If you would like to do an overnight float trip, the outpost camp is available on the South Fork of the Snake.  This camp accommodates a fishing party of up to eight (min. 4).  The camp staff prepares hearty campfire dishes.  A great experience!

Community Service

This lodge supports so many conservation organizations!

They support organizations that work toward long term solutions. Organizations that make it their mission to conserve, restore, protect, nurture and give back to others so that our environment and fisheries will not only benefit our world today, but will be treasured by future generations.

Through financial support and gifts of time,  contributes to these great organizations:

The Old Teton Restoration Project
Three Rivers Ranch restored a two mile section of the Teton River. When the Teton Dam broke in 1976, the flooding washed away the “old” Teton River’s natural flow and habitat. Three Rivers Ranch worked to restore this beautiful Blue Ribbon trout stream to its original state.
