Overview of Alabama Quail, Pheasant, Deer and Duck Lodge
The ideal, casual corporate or group wingshooting hunting experience can be found in southwest Alabama! This luxury lodge provides an incredible quail, pheasant, duck, whitetail, exotics, and fishing experience for groups looking to strengthen relationships and have fun. Pair your outdoor sporting with activities such as long-distance shooting, skeet shooting, sporting clays course, kayaking or canoeing, buggy tours, and pistol range. This lodge prioritizes successful hunting, fun activities, and relaxation.
Walk the fields of the property during your first-class quail and pheasant hunts. Each field is named after a college football team, so you will enjoy the comradery that comes with heckling your friend’s shooting, watching the dogs work, and debating sports teams. The duck hunting here is second to none with flight-conditioned birds that are ready to make you work! Your expert guides and dogs will do the work of tracking limits and collecting the birds while you do the easy part: enjoying!
If you are looking for big whitetail deer, this is your spot. By selecting only the best quality animals to form their herds and feeding them nutrient-rich foods, the herds boast large racked bucks. There is an opportunity for elk and fallow as well with smaller herds throughout the property, but they are very elusive. Your guide will lead you on your hunt either in a blind or on-the-ground spot & stalk hunting.
Fishing
There are BIG bass here and lots of them! The team here has worked to create an ideal habitat for bass to thrive. They have created a “heaven for largemouth bass” by creating an open lake with structure at the bottom. These fish will hit your bait hard, so you need to be ready! You can expect to catch an average of a 3-4lb bass. You have the option of having a guide join you.
Hunting
Quail Hunts
Season: October – Mid-March
Quail hunts take place from October to mid-March. The fields of this lodge are set up perfectly to enjoy an exciting walking-style hunt. Enjoy unlimited harvest and having your quail cleaned and packaged in a complimentary cooler.
The usual hunting style is to have 4 shooters per guide with shooters either alternating or walking in a straight line (reminiscent of South Dakota pheasant hunts) through the fields.
There can be a max number of 16 guests quail hunting at one time, four to a guide. If your group is larger than this, then some of your group can enjoy other activities in the morning or afternoon while the other member’s hunt.
Combo quail/pheasant hunts are available.
Pheasant Hunts
Season: October – March
Pheasant hunts take place from October to the end of March. With a minimum of ten shooters, enjoy continental pheasant shoots at this lodge. They have a tower set up in the middle of an open field, so you and your group will circle the tower on the ground. Your guides will throw the pheasants in the air, and they will fly in whatever direction they wish as you try to take them down!
Duck Hunts
Season: October – November
Duck hunts are conducted from October to November. Sit at one of this lodge’s great ponds while you call in some of the hundreds of ducks on the property. How do they have so many birds? They have done an excellent job creating an ideal environment for the ducks and providing their favorite foods, so they love to stick around! The mallards are flight-conditioned, making for action-packed hunts. There can be a max of 8 hunters at a time. Five birds are included, with a $25 fee per bird after.
Whitetail Hunts
Season: November – January
Whitetail packages include 3-day/2-night hunts that include lodging, meals, and drinks. Hunt bucks up to 220+. Your guide will estimate the size of the animal you are looking at, but the cost will be determined by actual measurements. Most hunts are conducted in box blinds, but a few will be spot and stalk. The whitetail season is from Nov – Jan.
Elk and Fallow Hunts
Season: Year Around
These are a great addition to your whitetail hunt. As the herds are small and elusive, this is not a lodge where you would go to hunt these species exclusively. But if you are on the hunt for a whitetail and one of these steps out, you may just have to take the shot!
