Overview of Australia Hunting Lodge - Brisbane

Tucked into the rugged hills of southeast Queensland, this outfitter runs one of Australia’s most respected hunting lodges. Family-owned and decades in the making, the team has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, fair-chase hunts, reliable service, and a straightforward experience that serious hunters appreciate.

With over 300 Gold Medal trophies and more SCI Top 10 entries than any other outfitter in the country, the results speak for themselves. From red stag and rusa to water buffalo and blackbuck, this is a place where the game is plentiful, the guides know their ground, and the focus is on ethical high success hunting.

What makes this destination even more appealing is the option for Antlers & Anglers Worldwide to add customized touring to your trip beyond the hunt. Add on time at the Great Barrier Reef, explore the Outback, get up close with native wildlife, or wind down with a vineyard tour—Australia has more to offer than most think, and we can help you see it.

Expect clean, comfortable lodging, a welcoming crew, and a seamless process from the moment you land. If you’re looking for a serious hunt with the option to turn it into a full-blown adventure, this destination checks every box.

Our Experience at This Lodge

We’ll be honest—this property wasn’t what we expected. Forget the sunbaked outback stereotype. What we found was a mix of rolling green hills, thick native forest, winding creeks, and pockets of rainforest tucked into the valleys. It’s a diverse, game-rich setting that wouldn’t have pictured when you thought “Australia.”

Wildlife was everywhere. We saw red stag, rusa, axis, sambar, blackbuck, and water buffalo. This place holds serious numbers, and it’s clear the ground is well-managed. The habitat supports a healthy population of mature animals, and the variety gives hunters plenty of options to build the trip they want.

We also had the chance to spend time with the family behind the operation. Good people. No fluff—just straight-shooters who know their land and love what they do. Their hospitality is genuine, and they’re fully dialed in when it comes to both the hunting and the client experience.

As for the lodge, it’s described as “luxury” by local standards, but set your expectations accordingly. You’ll get a hot shower, a clean bed, and good meals—everything you need after a long day in the bush. If you’re here for five-star frills, look elsewhere. If you’re here for the hunt, the land, and a team that knows how to deliver—this place checks all the boxes.

Hunting

This hunting ground delivers the kind of variety many Australian destinations can’t touch. Set in the hills of southeast Queensland, the property includes a private estate bordered by tens of thousands of acres of national forest. It’s wild, remote, and lightly pressured—ideal for spot-and-stalk hunts, safari-style outings, and everything in between. The elevation and terrain give you the kind of country where game can grow old and big.

You’ll have access to a serious lineup of species: red stag, rusa (both Javan and Moluccan), sambar, axis, fallow, hog deer, and blackbuck. This team has put more hunters in the SCI record books than any other outfitter in Australia—and they’ve done it the right way. Whether you’re chasing an old bucks in thick cover or tracking an axis across open ground, each hunt is built around fair chase, safety, and getting it done clean.

Trophy quality is no accident. Decades of management, selective harvest, and low-pressure hunting have built strong genetics and a deep bench of mature animals. This is one of the few places where you can realistically go after multiple top-tier trophies on a single trip.

Every hunt is fully guided and supported from the moment you step off the plane. Field care, transport, and prep are all handled by pros who know the ground and the game. Whether this is your tenth international trip or your first, you’ll be in good hands from start to finish.

Lodging

The lodge is clean, comfortable, and exactly what you want after a day in the field. Each of the four guest rooms includes a private en-suite bathroom, with air conditioning and heating to keep things comfortable no matter the season. Wi-Fi is available, but most guests are glad to unplug and soak in the quiet.

There’s a laid-back common area where hunters can grab a drink, swap stories, and regroup before the next outing. It’s not flashy—but it’s functional, and it feels like camp should: simple, easygoing, and focused on the hunt.

Meals are solid and satisfying. Breakfast gets you moving, lunch is served in the field or back at the lodge, and dinner brings everyone together around the table. Game taken during the hunt is often on the menu, prepared with local ingredients and no-nonsense flavors that hit the spot.

This is a place where the focus stays on the experience. No fuss, no distractions—just good food, good people, and a setting that makes you want to come back year after year.

Length of Stay / Itinerary

Sample 7-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Brisbane and overnight in the city.

Day 2: Morning pickup and private transfer to camp. Settle in, meet your guide, and head out for a quick afternoon hunt or sight-in session.

Days 2–5: Full days of guided hunting. Daily schedule is flexible based on conditions and goals. Optional touring or downtime available if you’re traveling with a non-hunter.  Number of days will depend on the number of species you wish to hunt.

Day 6: Depart the lodge. Transfer back to Brisbane or continue on with a touring extension.

Trips are fully customizable based on your timeframe and target species. Some hunters wrap up in three days, while others spend five or more. Whether you’re chasing one trophy or several, we’ll build the right plan for your hunt.

Travel Details & Location

This hunting area is set in a remote, mountainous region of southeast Queensland, surrounded by national forest and loaded with game. It’s quiet country—no crowds, no pressure—just the kind of ground where you can focus, hunt hard, and unwind when the day’s done.

The closest major airport is Brisbane International (BNE), about a two-hour drive from camp. We’ll arrange your pickup and return transfers, so you don’t have to worry about the logistics.

Bringing your own rifle? No problem. We’ll guide you through the simple import process. Prefer to rent? Quality firearms are available on-site and ready to go.

Australia is firearm-friendly, English-speaking, and easy to navigate—making it one of the smoothest international hunting destinations you can choose.

Other Activities

For non-hunters or anyone looking to expand the trip beyond the field, there’s no shortage of ways to explore Australia while you’re here.

Right on the property, you’ll find kangaroos, wallabies, emus, colorful birdlife, and even the occasional koala. It’s a wildlife-rich setting, and just walking the grounds between hunts can feel like its own kind of safari.

If you want to go bigger, we can line up custom touring before, during, or after your hunt. Options include:

  • Exploring the food, art, and waterfront culture of cities like Brisbane and Sydney

  • Diving or snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef

  • Tasting your way through Australian wine country

  • Visiting Aboriginal cultural sites and guided experiences

  • Getting up close with native species at local wildlife parks—koalas, wombats, crocs, and more

Whether you’re traveling with a non-hunting spouse or want to turn your trip into a full-on Australian adventure, we’ll build an itinerary that fits your pace and priorities. Just let us know what you want to see—and we’ll take care of the rest.

Internet & Communications

Wi-Fi is available at the lodge for checking email, sending messages, and staying in touch as needed.

Cell coverage is limited once you’re in the field, but satellite comms are on hand for safety and any critical needs. It’s a great place to unplug—but you’re never out of reach if it matters.

Pricing

Pricing depends on the number of hunters in your group, the species you’re after, and how long you plan to stay.

Hunts start at $6,800 per hunter.

We’ll build a custom quote based on your goals—whether you’re targeting one trophy or stacking multiple species. Non-hunters are welcome, with observer rates that include access to the lodge and optional touring.

Want to add time in wine country or hit the Great Barrier Reef? We’ll take care of the details. From firearm permits to packing advice, we handle the logistics so you can focus on the hunt.
