Hunting Overview:

The statistics tell you all you need to know about this outfitter and ranch:
100% success on elk / deer rifle hunts!
100% success on elk / deer muzzleloader hunts
100% shot opportunity/ 96% success for elk archery hunts

The ranch is a prime feeding ground in the valley hay fields and a prime bedding area up on the hillsides. The ranch installed a $2.5 million dollar sprinkler system down in the valley which has allowed them to plant over 3 miles of green fields. These green fields are like a magnet drawing large numbers of elk and mule deer into the fields each evening.

For elk the hunt is a classic spot & stalk style hunt, driving roads with trucks & ATV’s, glassing combined with hunting from very comfortable, large box blinds with comfortable chairs down on the green fields in the evening. Bow and rifle hunters can shoot from these box blinds. Ambush tactics are possible trying to intercept bulls as they go in or out of the green fields as well.

AM & early PM hunts are usually spot & stalk style hunts shifting to blinds on the green fields in the late afternoons.

Mule deer hunts are the same hunt tactics as elk hunts except the box blinds are normally not used.

General Seasons:
Elk Rifle – Mid October – Mid November
Elk archery and muzzeloader – September
Mule Deer Rifle (no archery hunting here) – Late October/early November

Elk Details:  Archery or Rifle

The hunt is a classic spot & stalk style hunt, driving roads with trucks & ATV’s, glassing combined with hunting from very comfortable, large box blinds with comfortable chairs down on the green fields in the evening. These nice blinds have large windows that work for both rifle and bow hunters.

Travel patterns are used to intercept bulls as they go in or out of the green fields as well. AM & early PM hunts are usually spot & stalk style hunts shifting to blinds on the green fields in the late afternoons.

During the September archery season they sometimes set up pop-up blinds on watering holes when the weather is warm and the elk tend to hit the water hard for relief from the heat.

September muzzleloader & bow hunts as well as October/November rifle hunts use the same tactics mentioned above during your hunt. September will be the prime rut/ bugle season which is one of the best hunting experiences there is anywhere.

The first and second rifle hunts are usually during the end of the elk rut and therefore you tend to see bigger bulls. There is usually some bugling still going on but bulls won’t come to cow calls as they do in September. Later you see huge numbers as they are hitting the green fields hard before winter sets in.

Elk average around 270-320 gross SCI and their best was a beautiful 345 gross SCI.

Mule Deer Details: RIFLE ONLY

These rifle hunts have been 100% successful over the years. They only offer 4 bucks per year so they can minimize pressure and continue to manage the herd for the trophy bucks hunters desire. This ranch is in a prime area for great trophy mule deer!

Most rifle hunts are done during the 2nd or 3rd rifle season which are late Oct/ early Nov. November is the rut.

Mule deer average in the 170-190 gross SCI range. In 2018 they took a 184, 191 and 207 gross SCI! Their best was the 207.
